BilikDunia - Reveals the fact that Andres Iniesta never hated
FC Barcelona, a club he has defended for more than two decades.
Although great with Barcelona, Andres Iniesta never
idolized Albacete Balompie as a child. This happened because he was born in
Fuentealbilla, an area in the province of Albacete located in southeastern
Spain.
The midfielder was once a member of the football academy
team at the club nicknamed Queso Mecanico. On April 18, 1992, Andres Iniesta
watched his favorite team slaughtered 1-7 by the Blaugrana.
At that time he was eight years old.
Albacete's defeat then disguised the hatred in Iniesta's
heart to Barcelona. Encouraged by the hurt, little Iniesta was turned into Real
Madrid fans who incidentally is the toughest rivals Barcelona.
"It happened because Barcelona poured seven goals
against Albacete and I was very angry," said the legend as quoted by the
BilikDunia of BolaSport.
"I'm really not happy they did that to Albacete, so I
changed teams," Iniesta said.
Indeed, because of destiny and soul mate, Iniesta finally
docked and successfully started his career in Barcelona. He joined the Barca
academy in 1996 and was promoted to the senior team five years later.
If calculated with the time he was in the junior team,
Iniesta has spent 22 years with the squad Barcelona.
