Shkodran Mustafi recounts his experiences of studying in several countries making him flourish. Mustafi said his previous experience with Everton made him able to adapt well in England with Arsenal.
Everton are the first team to be defended by Mustafi at the start of his career on British soil. He joined The Toffees U-23 in 2009 from Hamburg.
During the defense of Everton, Mustafi gave 34 appearances. He contributed one goal and one assist. He also had a chance to appear in the Europa League against Bate Borisov on December 17, 2009.
"It makes me grow.Of boy I'm growing into a man, I'm 24 years old, but I've played in Germany, Spain, Italy and England.I've tried to really take some style of play in each country which is different, "Mustafi said.
"When I was in England I was very young, when I was 17 years old and it was not easy when you came to a different country with different languages, cultures and soccer styles," he said.
After three career seasons at the Merseyside club, the German defender decided to move to Italy to defend Sampdoria. After two seasons he contracted to Valencia before the summer, then decided to return to England to join Arsenal.
Mustafi joined with Arsenal in late August 2016. He was imported from Valencia for a contract price of 41 million euros with a five-year contract duration.
Since strengthened by Mustafi, Arsenal managed to gain a clean victory in the last four games in the Premier League. On the other hand, Mustafi contribution makes the Gunners goal only conceded two goals.
The duet between Mustafi with Koscielny is the best duet at the start of the Premier League season. They managed to position the Gunners to compete at the top of the league standings with third place with 16 points.
"The main thing is that I'm growing up.You play football here, and to have no excuse for anything that keeps me growing," said the 184cm-talled defender.
