Zinedine Zidane used only two substitutions, which included entering Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio. Zidane's decision came to fruition after Asensio scored Real Madrid's decisive goal.
After the game, Zidane was questioned about Bale. According to him, Bale is still an important part of Real Madrid.
"I do not know what will happen in the future, I just decided to play Benzema and Asensio, not Bale," said Zidane.
"We have a lot of quality players, but as a coach I have to choose a player who will perform."
"We still have some other matches and I can count on Bale in those games, anyone who spreading speculation that Bale is no longer needed is not true," said Zidane.
In the 2017-18 season, Gareth Bale has recorded 33 appearances and scored 14 goals for Real Madrid. Currently, he is mentioned on the list of target of Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.
